Northland Closets was founded by Doug Heiken – a general contractor with a passion for home organization and helping people enjoy functional and appealing living spaces. His son, Sam Heiken, joined the business almost 20 years ago and worked alongside his father to learn the trade and further grow the company.

Now, Sam takes pride in continuing his father’s legacy by creating a wide range of products designed to help the people of Minnesota organize their homes with high-quality materials and exquisite craftsmanship.

We work one-on-one with our clients to create the home storage solutions each one needs. Custom closets and garages are in our name, but we aren’t limited to these specialties: We also offer organization systems for various other areas of the home, including the kitchen, home office, and laundry room.

In-Home Design Consultations – Free of Charge

Our business is based on creating unique systems for each homeowner, and each design begins with an in-depth consultation. This appointment takes place at your home and comes with no cost, risk, or obligation. During the consultation, you’ll get to see your design come together in 3D with our state-of-the-art software system.

Custom-Crafted Storage Solutions for Your Unique Needs

As your design unfolds, you’ll get to make the changes you see fit. Remember, this closet system, custom garage, laundry room organization system, or other storage space is custom-built for you, so you are in the driver’s seat. You’ll also get to choose the finishes and hardware you prefer to make sure your new space matches your sense of style.

Seamless Installation Process

Once you’ve approved your design and your price quote, we’ll schedule an appointment. Sam Heiken, the owner, will be leading all installations to make sure everything is executed seamlessly – from the design consultation to the installation process.

On the big day, you’ll remove your personal belongings from your space, and our crew will go in and install your new system. We keep our staff well-trained and up-to-date on the latest best practices when it comes to safe and secure installation. Once we’re done, we’ll clean up, show you how everything works, and be on our way.
